Day 5- By Vicki

Carnival Cruise Line is starting to look really good at the moment and cheaper too.  After another dirty shower in this marina and a granola bar for breakfast, we set out for the day.

When we left the marina, we were hopeful and in good spirits.  We even saw a group of five dolphins playing.    Since it's mother's day weekend and a beautiful day, there are many boats on the water.

We didn't get far.  First the engine alarms went off.  Then the carbon monoxide detector was shouting "Danger!  Danger!  Open the window"  over and over.  There is no way to shut that thing off.  Just before I took the battery out, it was reading 182.  Of course I'm worried that the cat is going to die.  Aaron went down to the cabin to do what he could.  I decided to stay up top and just be out of his way.

The oil pressure on the right engine was down to zero.  Yesterday the oil pressure was fine, so I'm thinking that during the repair yesterday something got knocked loose.  We came back on one engine, the left, to avoid blowing up the right.  The alarms were screaming at us the entire time.

This is the boat alarm that you can't shut off.

Thirty days, no matter what!!!  It can only get better from here.  Right???

  1. Odds are that your luck has got to get better, I agree. Problem might be something simple, like a sending unit or overfill on oil. I salute you both on your courage and determination during this voyage. Hope you continue to stay positive; I feel certain that all will work out in the end.
